Register to Vote and Sign Up for PAC. It's Easy!
The 2010 elections are going to be extremely important for the working men and women of New York. This year, we will be voting for candidates for offices on both the state and federal level. The easiest way to participate is by simply voting and contributing to Local 338's PAC fund. For more information speak to your Union or Service Representative. Local 338 Endorses Kathleen Rice for New York State Attorney General
On Monday, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced her candidacy for New York State Attorney General. The next day, Local 338 joined the RWDSU family on the steps of City Hall to proudly annouce our endorsement of her candidacy.
Elected as Nassau County District Attorney in 2005, Kathleen had previously served as Assistant United States Attorney, taking on tough crime. Throughout her career, Kathleen has been a champion of the working families of New Yorke, the Labor Movement and Local 338. We know she will continue this tradition as Attorney General and we look forward to working with her in the future.
Local 338 Endorses Kirsten Gillibrand for U.S. Senator
Local 338 joined the RWDSU family on February 22nd in Manhattan to announce our endorsement of United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Appointed to her position last year by Governor David Paterson to replace Hillary Clinton, Senator Gillibrand immediately proved to be a great friend of labor. Senator Gillibrand will be running for re-election in November.
During the endorsement rally, which was recorded for NY1 news, Senator Gillibrand gave a speech about the importance of addressing the special needs of working families and working to improve the lives of middle-class Americans. Local 338 is proud to support her and we know she will continue working with labor on behalf of our members.
Local 338 Endorses New York Comptroller Tom Dinapoli for Re-Election
On February 11, Local 338, RWDSU, and dozens of other unions announced their endorsement of New York State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli for re-election in November. Despite the blizzard the previous day, Local 338 was there on the steps of City Hall to show support for Comptroller DiNapoli.
Comptroller DiNapoli has had a long career in public service, having served in the New York State Assembly for twenty years before becoming Comptroller in 2007. Comptroller DiNapoli has been dedicated to his community, in addition to being a great friend of Labor. He has worked on behalf of the needs of working men and women and their families, a tradition that he will continue in the future. Local 338 is proud to support Comptroller DiNapoli in his re-election bid.
