Local 338 Scholarship Awards Program

The 2010 Local 338 Scholarship Awards Program, including the Emanuel Laub Scholarship, was established to honor the late Local 338 President Emanuel Laub. It is open only to Local 338 Members and their families who have been a member of the union for at least one year. The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and awards 10 students a one time award of $1000 for their first year of college. One student, the Emanuel Laub Scholarship recipient, will be awarded $1000 a year for all four years in annual installments. The application deadline was April 15, 2010. Please check back in December for more information about applying next year.

Alvin E. Heaps Scholarship Application

All RWDSU members and their children are eligible to apply for the Alvin E. Heaps Scholarships. Scholarships are financial assistance for one academic year. Several awards are given out each year. Union Plus Scholarships

All Local 338 members and their families are entitled to apply for the Union Plus Scholarship Award. Check out the Union Plus Scholarship Program, Union Plus National Labor College Scholarship and many other union-sponsored scholarship opportunities. The scholarship deadline was January 31, 2010. Please check back in November for the 2011 scholarship application.

UFCW James A. Suffridge Scholarship

As a member of Local 338 RWDSU / UFCW, you and members of your family are eligible for scholarship assistance from the UFCW’s James A. Suffridge scholarship. The application deadline was April 15, 2010. Please check back in December for information on the 2011 Suffridge Scholarship.
